Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Willie Snead's four-yard touchdown catch with 29 seconds remaining proved to be the difference as the Ball State Cardinals slipped by the Buffalo Bulls, 28-25, in Mid-American Conference play at Scheumann Stadium.

Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning orchestrated an incredible 18-play, 75- yard drive in the final minutes of the meeting in order for the Cardinals (2-1, 1-0 MAC) to secure the win. Wenning finished the night 24-of-36 for 226 yards and a couple of scores for the hosts, while Jahwan Edwards played a crucial role with 22 carries for 112 yards and two TDs on the ground.

The Bulls (1-2, 0-1) were paced by Branden Oliver who recorded a game-high 118 yards and scored once on 27 rushing attempts. Chazz Anderson hit on 13-of-23 passes for 149 yards and a score as well.

The night's scoring kicked off with a 27-yard touchdown pass from Terrell Jackson to Marcus Rivers to cap the opening drive for the Bulls.

BSU then ripped off three straight touchdowns in the second quarter, beginning with an eight-yard scoring run by Edwards, followed by a 19-yard TD strike between Wenning and Briggs Orsbon. Edwards struck again with less than a minute remaining in the first half as he crossed the goal line from four yards out to make the score 21-7 in favor of the hosts.

The only points of the third frame were recorded by Oliver for the Bulls, his 10-yard touchdown run cutting the deficit to 21-13 after the PAT was blocked.

Buffalo continued to put the pressure on as Anderson connected with Alex Neutz on a 45-yard TD pass play, the former then taking the ball into the end zone himself on a one-yard run, but both times the Bulls failed on two-point conversions, leaving the visitors with a 25-21 advantage with 6:28 remaining.

It was from there that Wenning methodically moved the ball down the field for the Cardinals, eating up time on the clock as they went along, en route to the game-winning score.
