NCAA Game Summary - Ole Miss at Vanderbilt

Final Score: Ole Miss 7 - Vanderbilt 30

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Zac Stacy ran for a career-best 169 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries, helping lift the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 30-7 win over Ole Miss in the SEC opener for both teams at Vanderbilt Stadium.

Stacy headlined a ground attack that churned out 281 yards and three scores in the win. The Commodores (3-0, 1-0 SEC) are off to a 3-0 start after winning only two games a year ago. It was also their largest margin of victory over an SEC foe since 1971.

Rebels (1-2, 0-1) quarterback Zack Stoudt was intercepted five times in the loss, including one that was returned the other way for a touchdown.

After a scoreless first quarter, Larry Smith put Vandy on the board with a 19- yard touchdown run at the 5:40 mark of the second quarter.

On the ensuing possession, Vanderbilt's Trey Wilson intercepted a Stoudt pass and returned it 52 yards to pay dirt for a 14-0 Commodores' lead.

Vandy stretched its lead to 21-0 just before halftime, as Jerron Seymour capped an eight-play, 57-yard drive with a nine-yard touchdown run.

The Commodores defense struck again with a safety one minute into the second half, as Ole Miss fumbled in its own end zone and had to jump on the ball.

Stacy made it a 30-0 game with a 77-yard touchdown dash late in the third quarter, essentially putting the game away.

Ole Miss avoided the shutout with a 47-yard touchdown pass from Stoudt to Donte Moncrief in the final minutes.

Vandy's defense played a big role in the win, racking up five interceptions and a safety on the day. On the other side of the ball, the Commodores' ground game averaged a healthy 5.7 yards per carry in the win.
