Edwards ran in the first two touchdowns of the game for Ball State, including a three yard scamper on the Cardinal's first drive followed by a 12-yard score that pushed the score to 14-0 early in the second quarter.

Wenning hit Jamill Smith for a two-yard touchdown pass with 4:39 remaining in the first half, and the rout was on. Wenning threw his second touchdown pass of the day minutes later, finding Snead for a 21-yard touchdown that extended Ball State's lead 28-0.

Steven Schott's 21 yard field goal as first half time expired pushed the lead to 31-0, and Edwards found paydirt again midway through the third quarter, plunging in from one-yard out to cap a six play, 62 yard drive.

Army finally got on the scoreboard on the next drive on a one-yard touchdown run from Maples to cap an eight play, 77 yard drive.

After Wenning hit David Schneider for a 51-yard touchdown pass to give Ball State a 45-7 lead, Maples scored for the second time for Army, this time on a 19 yard touchdown run that capped Army's most productive drive of the day.

Schott hit a 22 yard field goal with 2:50 remaining, and Army's Terry Baggett scored on a seven-yard run which concluded the scoring with 1:07 left in the game.
