Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Ohio State racked up 226 rushing yards and that was good enough for the Buckeyes to claim a convincing 37-17 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes in a non-league affair at Ohio Stadium.

Jordan Hall led the way for Ohio State (3-1) with 84 yards and one score on 18 carries, while quarterback Braxton Miller added 83 rushing yards. Miller also threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns in the contest. Both scores went to Devin Smith, who finished with 64 yards on three receptions.

As for the Buffs (1-3) they were paced by Tyler Hansen, who threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Since Colorado was down early the team abandoned the run and finished with only 76 yards on 16 carries.

The Buckeyes jumped out to a 17-0 lead over Colorado and the first points came on Hall's one-yard plunge midway through the opening quarter. Drew Basil added a 28-yard field goal in the first frame and that was followed by a 32- yard touchdown pass from Miller to Smith.

Colorado finally got on the scoreboard late in the second stanza when Hansen hit Toney Clemons with an 11-yard scoring strike.

Ohio State went into the break with a 20-7 lead thanks to an 18-yard field goal by Basil in the final seconds of the quarter.

Braxton and Smith hooked up again early in the third quarter, this score coming on a 17-yard strike, pushing Ohio State's lead to 27-7.

After a 47-yard field goal by Colorado's Will Oliver, the Buckeyes responded immediately using just one play, a five-yard run by Carlos Hyde, to make it a 34-10 contest

Basil's third field goal of the game, a 47-yard boot, gave the Buckeyes a 37-10 edge early in the final frame.

Hansen connected with Tyler McCulloch for a 14-yard touchdown pass late in the quarter, but by then the Buckeyes had the game well under control.
