Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - G.J. Kinne threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns as Tulsa defeated North Texas 41-24 on non-conference action at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

Bryan Burnham and Willie Carter combined for 11 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns for Tulsa (2-3), which generated 412 yards of total offense and returned two North Texas interceptions for touchdowns.

Lance Dunbar led North Texas (1-4) with 127 yards and one touchdown, as the Mean Green won the time of possession battle 40:53-to-19:07. Quarterback Andrew McNulty struggled, completing just 11-of-18 for 158 yards and two interceptions.

Kinne hit Bryan Burnham for a 49 yard touchdown to spot Tulsa a 7-0 lead three minutes into the game, and the defense added seven more on the next drive after Dwight Dobbins intercepted McNulty's pass and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown with 9:07 remaining in the first quarter.

North Texas made it 14-3 after kicker Zach Olen booted a 52-yarder at the 9:17 mark of the second quarter. Kinne would respond with two more touchdown passes to cap the second quarter scoring, with the first coming on a 25 yard strike to Willie Carter with 6:11 left.

Kinne hit Ricky Johnson on a 12 yard passing score with 48 seconds remaining in the half, extending Tulsa's lead to 28-3.

McNulty was intercepted again to start the second half, this time by Dexter McCoil, who picked the ball at the Tulsa 26 and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown. Kevin Fitzpatrick's extra point was blocked to make it 34-3 with 12:28 remaining in the third quarter.

Carter's two yard touchdown run put the Golden Hurricane up by 38 with 5:23 remaining.

North Texas accounted for the only scoring in the fourth quarter, with two touchdowns coming from Dunbar. His seven yard touchdown run made it 41-10 with 13:38 remaining in the game. Quarterback Brent Osborn hit Dunbar on an 12-yard touchdown pass with 3:39 remaining, and Osborn concluded the scoring with a 26 yard scoring pass to Ivan Delgado with eight seconds left in the contest.
