NCAA Game Summary - Ole Miss at Fresno State

Fresno, CA (Sports Network) - Jeff Scott rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ole Miss Rebels to a 38-28 victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs in a non-league tussle at Bulldog Stadium.

Brandon Bolden added two scores of his own for Ole Miss (2-3) and finished with 43 yards on six carries. Randall Mackey threw for 214 yards in the win and also tossed a touchdown for the Bulldogs.

Derek Carr threw for 281 yards and one score in the loss, and also tossed an interception for Fresno State (2-3). Robbie Rouse led the charge on the ground for Fresno State, rumbling for 123 yards and one touchdown.

The Bulldogs took a 7-0 lead midway through the opening frame when Carr connected with Rashad Evans for a two-yard touchdown pass.

However, less than two minutes later the Bulldogs responded with a 21 yard rushing touchdown by Bolden.

The Rebels went back on top later in the quarter when Mackey connected with Melvin Harris on a 22-yard scoring strike. The extra point was block though, leaving the score at 13-7.

In the final seconds of the opening frame the Bulldogs went on top 14-13 thanks to a 26-yard scoring scamper by Jalen Saunders.

The lone score in the second quarter came from Bolden, as his 12 yard run put the Rebels ahead 20-14 at the break.

The Bulldogs regained the lead quickly in the third frame, as Rouse found the endzone on a seven-yard run.

Less than two minutes later Scott broke free for Ole Miss and scampered 69 yards down field to put the Rebels ahead 27-21.

The back and forth continued as the Bulldogs used a one-yard run by Carr midway through the third frame to take a one point lead.

However, the fourth quarter was dominated by Ole Miss, as the Rebels scored 11 straight points en route to the win.

The first score was a 12-yard touchdown run by Scott, which along with Mackey's two-point conversion pass to Donte Moncrief, gave the Rebels a seven-point lead.

Bryson Rose's 24 yard field goal late in the final frame gave the Rebels a 10- point lead.
