West Point, NY (Sports Network) - Raymond Maples ran for a game-high 141 yards and a touchdown, as the Army Black Knights throttled Tulane 45-6 at Michie Stadium.

Trent Steelman rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one more to help the Black Knights (2-3) rebound in a big way after back-to-back road losses.

Orleans Darkwa ran for 138 yards and a score for the Green Wave (2-3), who will be happy to return home after wrapping up their three-game road swing.

On the second play from scrimmage, Darkwa broke free for a 67-yard run down to the Army three-yard line. Darkwa punched it into the end zone on the very next play to give Tulane a 6-0 lead just over a minute into the game. However, Cairo Santos missed the extra-point attempt.

Army answered with a 10-play, 70-yard drive, capped by Larry Dixon's two-yard touchdown run to put the Black Knights on top, 7-6.

The Black Knights pushed their lead to 14-6 on a two-yard touchdown run by Steelman at the 14:24 mark of the second quarter. The drive was set up by a Josh Jackson interception that gave Army the ball deep in Tulane territory.

Steelman added a one-yard touchdown late in the second quarter to give the Black Knights a 21-6 lead at intermission.

Steelman took to the air at the 9:54 mark of the third quarter, as he found Davyd Brooks for a 40-yard touchdown pass to make it a 28-6 game.

Darkwa lost a fumble on the first play of Tulane's ensuing possession, giving Army the ball on the Green Wave 11. The Black Knights were not able to punch it into the end zone, although Alex Carlton tacked on three more points with a 23-yard field goal.

The rout continued in the fourth quarter, as Maples scored on a 23-yard run, and Kelechi Odocha tacked on a 14-yard touchdown run to account for the final margin.

Army's option game was in top form, as the Black Knights racked up 353 yards (5.7 ypc) and five touchdowns on the ground.
