Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Behind yet another stellar performance by star tailback Bernard Pierce, the Temple Owls made light work of the Buffalo Bulls in Mid-American Conference action, posting a 34-0 shutout at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon.

Temple (5-2, 3-1 MAC) amassed 458 total yards offensively (400 rushing), while Buffalo (2-5,1-2) managed just 155 yards of offense.

Pierce was responsible for a good portion of Temple's output, rumbling for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Pierce broke the season records for rushing touchdowns (17) and overall touchdowns (17). Pierce's two touchdowns also gave him 44 for his career, which is also a school record.

Matt Brown added 120 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown for Temple.

Buffalo's Chazz Anderson was frustrated by the Temple defense all day, completing just 9-of-26 passes for 84 yards with an interception. Branden Oliver led Buffalo in rushing with 62 yards on 21 carries.

The scoring opened at the 7:45 mark of the first quarter with a 28-yard field goal by Temple's Brandon McManus. Pierce would make it 10-0 for the Owls, capping off a 10-play, 72-yard drive with a two-yard TD scamper.

Pierce broke off a 53-yard TD run early in the second quarter to give Temple a 17-0 lead. Backup tailback Ahkeem Smith made the most of his only carry of the game, taking it 49 yards for a touchdown to spot the Owls a 24-0 lead going into the half.

The second half was all Temple. Brown broke a 58-yard run at the 8:23 mark of the third frame to push the lead to 31-0. McManus added another field goal with 7:54 remaining in the game to make it 34-0.

Buffalo converted just 2-of-13 third downs, while the Owls managed to convert 8-of-18. Temple dominated the time of possession, holding onto the ball for 39:08 to Buffalo's 20:52.
