Final Score: Stanford 44 - Washington St 14
Pullman, WA (Sports Network) - Andrew Luck threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns, pacing seventh-ranked Stanford to a 44-14 rout of Washington State.
Luck completed 23-of-36 passes for the Cardinal, while Stepfan Taylor rushed for 100 yards and caught a TD pass. Coby Fleener caught four passes for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Levine Toilolo had two scoring receptions for Stanford (6-0, 4-0 Pac-12), which extended the nation's longest winning streak to 14 games, a new school record.
Jeff Tuel went 17-of-30 for 145 yards through the air for the Cougars (3-3, 1-2), who had TD runs from Carl Winston and Marshall Lobbestael.
The Cougars were within 10-7 at the half, but Luck threw a pair of TD passes to Toilolo in the third quarter.
Luck's first pass of the game resulted in an interception by Damante Horton, but the Cougars were forced to punt.
"First, they played good defense. Then little mistakes - my part especially," Luck said. "I'm not putting the ball where it needs to be, or stepping up, or making the right checks. They're correctable things, I think all of them are as we showed in the second half."
Jordan Williamson kicked a 23-yard field goal with 1:34 left in the opening quarter, and the Cardinal expanded to a 10-0 lead in the second. Jared Karstetter fumbled after making a reception for WSU, and Michael Thomas' 33- yard return to the 20 set up Stanford for a one-yard TD run by Jeremy Stewart on fourth down.
Taylor fumbled the ball away later in the second, leading to Winston's two- yard TD plunge with 2:18 left before halftime.
Isiah Barton's 50-yard kickoff return to start the second half set the Cougars up at midfield, but they went three-and-out.
Luck then led Stanford on an 85-yard scoring drive, finished by a 10-yard pass to Toilolo. Fleener caught passes of nine and 62 yards.
"Not much room for error with a ball club like that," Tuel said. "They did a great job bringing the heat and having answers for what we were doing."
Luck found Toilolo from 26 yards out with 1:18 left in the third, and an eight-yard TD pass to Taylor made it 31-7 just 68 seconds into the fourth.
Fleener caught a 28-yard TD pass with 4:26 remaining before Lobbestael scored on a one-yard run with 14 seconds left.
Ty Montgomery returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards to the end zone to conclude the contest.
