The 69 points scored by the Horned Frogs was the most in school history, breaking the old mark of 68 set in a shutout win against Austin College on this very date back in 1932.
It was the worst defeat for the Lobos since a 72-0 loss at Oregon to open last season. UNM entered the week ranked second-to-last in the nation in yards allowed per game (534.8) and points permitted (44.0 ppg).
New Mexico has now lost 10 straight games. At the start of the day the Lobos were tied with Florida Atlantic with the longest losing streak in the FBS. Florida Atlantic will host Middle Tennessee tonight.
The Lobos have dropped 19 straight on the road, their last road win was a 35-24 triumph at New Mexico State on September 27, 2008. New Mexico's last road win in Mountain West play was a 20-17 decision at San Diego State on October 20, 2007.
TCU now leads the all-time series between the two teams 10-3 and has won all seven meetings since joining the Mountain West in 2005.
