Oxford, OH (Sports Network) - Justin Semmes ran for 100 yards and two scores as the Miami-Ohio RedHawks routed the Akron Zips, 35-3.

Akron, which came into the game allowing 203.9 yards per game on the ground, gave up 168 yards rushing to the RedHawks (4-5, 3-2 MAC).

Zac Dysert completed 12-of-19 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns for Miami-Ohio, which won its fourth game in its last five.

"Semmes had a very good week of practice, and he got an opportunity today to go into the ball game and carry the ball more than in the past, and he answered the bell," said RedHawks coach Don Treadwell.

Nick Harwell caught four balls for 117 yards and a score, Chris Givens had four receptions for 47 yards and Andy Cruse added a touchdown catch.

Jawon Chisholm carried the ball 20 times for 68 yards for the Zips (1-8, 0-5), who've dropped five straight games.

"It's a very disappointing effort," said Zips coach Rob Ianello. "We didn't convert on downs and we didn't play the way we should have. I am very disappointed."

The RedHawks jumped on Akron early, and led 28-0 at halftime.

Harwell had a 38-yard snag before Dysert scored from a yard out to make it 7-0 midway through the first quarter.

Dysert then found Cruse wide open in the end zone for a 22-yard score, while Semmes had a one-yard TD plunge and Harwell hauled in a 52-yard TD pass to make it 28-0.

Semmes rushed for his second score in the fourth quarter with a two-yard TD run to make it 35-0, and A.J. Fox got Akron on the board with a 24-yard field goal with 4:12 left in regulation.
