Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Maxwell Smith threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns as the Kentucky Wildcats defeated Ole Miss, 30-13, in SEC action at Commonwealth Stadium.

Smith converted 19-of-36 passes on the afternoon for the Wildcats (4-5, 1-4 SEC) as they won for the second time in the last three outings. CoShik Williams accounted for a game-high 111 yards and two scores on 25 rushing attempts for the hosts as well.

The Rebels (2-7, 0-6), losers of four in a row, were paced by Randall Mackey who converted 14-of-29 passes, finished with 197 yards and a score, but was picked off once and suffered three sacks in the setback.

Ole Miss opened the game with a pair of field goals in the first quarter as Bryson Rose connected on 31 and 37 yards out to give the visitors a 6-0 advantage.

The Wildcats came back with 10 points of their own as Williams landed in the end zone from two yards out and kicker Craig McIntosh knocked through a 48- yard field goal to give the hosts a 10-6 edge at the break.

The only points of the third frame came courtesy of Ole Miss as Mackey hooked up with wideout Nickolas Brassell on a 21-yard TD strike to put the Rebels ahead once again at 13-10.

From there the game belonged to Kentucky as the squad rattled off 20 in a row to close out the meeting. Maxwell had TD passes of 38 and eight yards to La'Rod King and Gene McCaskill, respectively, while Williams capped the days scoring with a 10-yard TD run with just 1:18 remaining to put the game out of reach.

Ole Miss generated 392 yards of total offense, a sizeable improvement over the team's average of 283.6 ypg heading into the week, an average that ranked the squad 115th in the country.
