Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Tailback Ronnie Hillman rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns, leading the San Diego State Aztecs to a 31-14 victory over UNLV in Mountain West Conference action at Sam Boyd Stadium.
The Aztecs (7-4, 4-3 MWC) rolled up 239 yards rushing and 391 yards total in the game. Quarterback Ryan Lindley completed 13-of-29 passes, for 152 yards and two TDs in the win.
UNLV (2-9, 1-5) also ran the ball well, led by Tim Cornett's 136 yards and two TDs. Quarterback Caleb Herring was 14-of-26 passing, for 119 yards and was sacked four times.
The Rebels got on the scoreboard first at the 4:10 mark of the first quarter on a 54-yard TD scamper by Cornett. He added a second score, this time from 25 yards out in the opening moments of the second quarter to give UNLV a 14-0 lead.
Nine minutes later, Hillman cut the lead in half with a 44-yard TD run.
The Rebels took that 14-7 lead into halftime.
The second half belonged to the Aztecs, as Lindley hit Colin Lockett with a 15-yard TD pass to tie things up midway through the third quarter. A 27-yard field goal with under a minute to go in the third quarter by Abelardo Perez gave SDSU its first lead at 17-14.
The Aztecs provided the rest of the scoring in the fourth quarter, with a six- yard TD pass from Lindley to Dylan Denso and a one-yard TD run by Hillman.
