NFL - Chad Ochocinco emotional after loss to Chargers

Since the death of Chris Henry, last Thursday, Chad Ochocinco has been extremely devastated and emotional over the news.

He cried when he heard about his friend, and wore the number 15 jersey at practice on Thursday. He debated on wearing Henry's jersey in the game on Sunday, but decided against it. However, after catching a 49 yard touchdown in the 2nd quarter, tears started flowing again.

After beating Antonio Cromartie in single coverage, Ochocinco pulled down a pass from Carson Palmer, then he took a knee in the end zone and said a little prayer. As he went back to the sideline, you could see him tearing up.

When asked, Ochocinco said to himself as he stood there, "Eighty five and fifteen would be a hundred ways to be amazing. I just keep saying this over and over 'Eighty-five and fifteen'. There is a hundred ways for us to be great. This was a little thing we used to have and we would say all the time."

Ochocinco said that he decided not to wear Henry's jersey when "Some media outlets had the nerve to say that I was making a situation about me." A question regarding if Ochocinco would or would not wear Henry's jersey wound up being a subplot of the game. Also the NFL said that they would not allow the NFLPA to pay the fine or match it with a donation to Chris Henry's Memorial Fund.

Ochocinco said, "As this turned out to be a negative thing if I would have worn his jersey today, I am sure this would have spun into a negative. That is why I had to backtrack and think that Slim would not have wanted that, he would of wanted me to go out and play for him."

Along with the touchdown, Ochocinco went over one thousand yards for the 7th time in his 9 year career. He finished with 3 receptions for 79 yards in a 27-24 loss to the Chargers, including a reverse that he took for 26 yards.

When asked if the pain from the loss of Henry would get worse or better after the game, Ochocinco said that he planned on staying busy. Ochocinco added, "The busier that I am, makes it easier to keep my mind off of this. Going home is going to trouble me. The funeral service on Tuesday in New Orleans is about to trouble me. Anytime there's quiet time and you've got time to think it is going to trouble me. I am just ready to get back to work."
