Report: Bucs agree with Faine

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly agreed to a contract with free agent center Jeff Faine, who spent the past two seasons with division rival New Orleans.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Faine has agreed to a multi-year deal that is contingent upon his passing a physical.

Faine was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 21st overall pick of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played three seasons with the Browns before joining the Saints in a draft-day trade in April 2006.

The Notre Dame product started 14 games last season and started all 16 games in 2006, but his three years with Cleveland included a few injuries. An ankle injury cut his rookie season short after nine starts, and he started 13 games in 2004 before another ankle problem sidelined him for the last three games. He missed the last two games of the 2005 campaign because of a biceps injury.
