'Skins agree with Cartwright

Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins agreed to a contract Friday with running back Rock Cartwright, bringing him back to the club for a seventh season.

According to the Washington Post, the deal is for three years and worth $3.35 million.

Cartwright has served primarily as a kick returner the last two seasons. He currently sits in fourth place on the franchise's all-time kickoff return yardage list with 3,157 total yards.

Cartwright has also recorded 34 tackles on punt and kick coverage units last season.

The 29-year-old, a seventh round draft choice by Washington in 2002, hopes to see more playing time at running back in the 2008-09 campaign. He has racked up 647 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his NFL career.
