Steelers release WR Wilson

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Steelers released wide receiver Cedrick Wilson on Thursday.
Wilson signed with the Steelers as a free agent before the 2005 season after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with San Francisco. In three campaigns with Pittsburgh, he totaled 81 receptions for 1,162 yards and two touchdowns.
He was charged on Wednesday with assaulting his estranged girlfriend at a suburban Pittsburgh restaurant.
In seven seasons in the NFL, he has appeared in 100 games and has 178 receptions for 2,365 yards and eight touchdowns.
