Kirkland, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Seahawks signed veteran kicker Olindo Mare, the club announced Thursday, replacing former place-kicker Josh Brown.
Mare, 34, has spent last season with New Orleans, making 10-of-17 field goals, with a long of 52 yards, and all 34 extra point attempts. It was his only season with the Saints after spending the first 10 years of his career with Miami.
In 11 NFL seasons, Mare has made 255-of-320 field goals with a long of 54, and 347-of-352 extra points. He made the Pro Bowl in 1999 when he set a then-NFL record of 39 field goals made.
Mare replaces Brown, who spent all five of his NFL seasons with the Seahawks before signing as a free agent with St. Louis.
