Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with running back Dominic Rhodes.
Rhodes was released after one season with the Oakland Raiders and the Indianapolis Star reported that he will return to Indianapolis with a deal worth about $650,000.
After helping the Colts to a Super Bowl title after the 2006 season, Rhodes signed with the Raiders as a free agent. He appeared in just 10 games last season, with two starts, missing the first four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Rhodes managed just 302 yards with a touchdown on 75 carries and also caught 11 passes for 70 yards. In seven NFL seasons, he has 2,576 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns and 101 catches for 719 yards and a score.
The Raiders made Rhodes expendable when they selected Darren McFadden with the fourth overall pick of the 2008 draft.
Rhodes started all 16 regular-season games during his last year with the Colts, splitting time in the backfield with Joseph Addai. Addai started the team's four playoff games, including Super Bowl XLI, but Rhodes ran for 113 yards on 21 carries and scored once in the 29-17 victory over the Chicago Bears.
