NFL names new security chief

Tue 8th, July 2008

Harrisburg, PA (Sports Network) - The National Football League tabbed former Pennsylvania State Police administrator Col. Jeffrey Miller to direct the NFL's new strategic security program.

The Harrisburg Patriot News reported that Miller was named the league's director of strategic security programs and will be working on issues that have to do with the integrity of the game, from fan conduct to event security planning.

Miller, a Harrisburg native, enlisted with the Pennsylvania state police -- the nation's ninth-largest police force -- in 1984 and was promoted to the commissioner's post in 2003.
