Browns place QB Quinn on IR

Tue 22nd, December 2009

Berea, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns placed quarterback Brady Quinn on injured reserve on Tuesday, meaning Derek Anderson will be the signal-caller for the team's last two games of the season.

According to head coach Eric Mangini, Quinn suffered a foot injury on his last carry in the team's win over Kansas City.

"He won't be able to play the next two weeks," Mangini said. "It's hard to tell exactly what happened. Even Brady isn't sure exactly what happened."

Brett Ratliff will serve as the backup quarterback, with Josh Cribbs as the emergency third QB.

Quinn finishes the 2009 campaign with 1,339 passing yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 games -- nine starts. Anderson has played in six games -- five starts -- and has 681 passing yards with two touchdowns and nine picks.
