Raiders pound Seahawks for another lopsided win

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Jason Campbell threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-27 passing, without an interception, and Sebastian Janikowski hit on 4-of-5 field goals as the Raiders trounced the Seattle Seahawks, 33-3, at Oakland Coliseum.

Darren McFadden ran for 111 yards on 21 carries and caught two passes for 24 yards, and Darrius Heyward-Bey caught five passes for 105 yards and a touchdown to lead the Raiders (4-4) to their second win in as many weeks.

"We've had people step into a hole and move us forward. It speaks well about our depth," Raiders head coach Tom Cable said. "We're getting there."

Matt Hasselbeck threw for 160 yards on 13-of-32 passing, including an interception for Seattle (4-3), which had its two-game winning streak broken. Hasselbeck was also sacked eight times by the Raiders defense.

Oakland's defense held Seattle to only 162 total yards of offense and forced them into just 1-of-16 third down conversions.

Oakland held a 13-0 lead going into the final quarter and added 20 points to seal the convincing victory.

The Raiders ran out the final 3:30 of the third quarter and extended the drive to open up the fourth, which culminated in a 22-yarder from Janikowski to push their lead to 16 with 14:52 to play.

On the Seahawks' next drive, Hasselbeck attempted a long pass to Deon Butler, but when the outstretched receiver came down with the ball, at the Oakland 16, it popped out into the hands of Oakland's Tyvon Branch, who took it 15 yards to his own 31.

On the next play Campbell connected with Heyward-Bey on a 69-yard bomb, which the second-year receiver took down the left sideline to extend the Oakland lead to 23.

The Seahawks finally got on the board with under just nine minutes remaining when Olindo Mare connected on a 47-yard field goal.

Janikowski added his final field goal with 7:18 to go, this time a 49-yarder to extend the Raiders' lead back to 23.

On the next drive the Oakland defense forced Seattle into its ninth punt of the game and completed its scoring with a six-play, 66-yard drive that Michael Bush finished with a four-yard TD run.

Janikowski hit a 31-yard field goal 9:46 into the opening quarter for the game's first points.

Campbell teamed with Marcell Reece for a 30-yard touchdown on the hosts' first drive of the second quarter to extend their lead. Reece caught the short pass across the middle and broke two tackles en route to his second touchdown of the season.

Oakland settled for another Janikowski field goal on its first drive of the third quarter, this time a 36-yarder, that capped a nine-play, 76-yard march and made it a 13-0 game. McFadden's 49-yard run to the Seahawks 31 set up the boot.

"We didn't play right today. The best thing we can do is get on a plane, get home, get in the meeting room and get started again," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. "It was a terrific day for the Raiders. They looked great."
