Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - Washington coach Mike Shanahan wouldn't address rumors surrounding a possible trade of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and said the veteran will be with the Redskins for Sunday's season opener against Dallas.
According to multiple media sources, the Redskins have been speaking with the Tennessee Titans about possibly trading Haynesworth, who is under a $100 million contract with Washington.
"We've heard all these rumors and speculation," Shanahan said. "Albert had a great practice today and he'll be ready to go this weekend. I think we'll leave it at that.
"Albert will be with our team on Sunday, yes."
Haynesworth publicly displayed his frustration with the team this offseason. When he arrived at training camp, Washington made him pass a conditioning test before he could practice. Haynesworth failed to pass the test multiple times. After an MRI revealed no structural damage in his ailing knee, he finally passed the test.
