Marcus Stroud retires as member of Jaguars

Wed 20th, June 2012

Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud retired as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars after signing a one-day contract on Wednesday.

Originally drafted by the Jaguars with the 13th overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, Stroud spent seven years in Jacksonville and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

"This is where I started my career and where I was able to have my most productive years," Stroud said. "The Jaguars are like family and I know this is where I belong."

Stroud was traded to the Bills in 2008 and spent the final three seasons of his career in Buffalo.

In 146 career games, Stroud had 647 tackles and 29 1/2 sacks.
