A six-year veteran, Scott returns to Detroit after spending the past two seasons with Pittsburgh where he started 14 of the 28 games he played in.

A fifth-round pick of Detroit in 2006, he played his first two seasons with Detroit then went to Buffalo for the next two years before heading to Pittsburgh.

Over his time in the NFL, he has played in 58 games and started 28.

To make room on the roster, the Lions released tackle Johnny Culbreath, who was a seventh-round pick of the Lions in 2011 and spent the season on injured reserve with an undisclosed illness. He was arrested in January for marijuana possession.
