Ochoa increases lead over Sorenstam in rankings

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Lorena Ochoa won the Sybase Classic for the third straight year on Sunday, stealing back the spotlight from Annika Sorenstam while increasing her lead on the retiring Swede at the top of the world rankings.

No. 1 Ochoa now leads the second-ranked Sorenstam by 7.7 average points, far less than her advantage at the beginning of the season, but more than a half- point better than her lead last week when Sorenstam was coming off a victory.

Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Karrie Webb, Ji-Yai Shin, Cristie Kerr, Jeong Jang, Jee Young Lee and Juli Inkster rounded out the top 10, with the only difference in order from last week being Shin's rousting of Kerr from the No. 6 spot.

Momoko Ueda, Morgan Pressel, Mi Hyun Kim, Se Ri Pak, Maria Hjorth, Stacy Prammanasudh, Sakura Yokomine, Angela Stanford, Catriona Matthew and Seon-Hwa Lee rounded out the top 20.

Pressel, Hjorth and Matthew made gains from last week. Pak, Prammanasudh and Seon-Hwa Lee lost ground.
