Vanegas moves in front in Colombia

Rionegro, Colombia (Sports Network) - David Vanegas posted a two-under 69 on Saturday to move atop the leaderboard after the third round of the Abierto Internacional de Golf II Copa Antioquia.

He finished 54 holes at eight-under 205 and is one shot ahead of Vincent Covello, who also had a 69 on Saturday, at Club Deportivo El Rodeo sede La Macarena.

Second-round co-leader Oscar Alvarez struggled to a one-over 72 and fell into a tie for third place with Alvaro Velasco (69) and Nathan Smith (71) at minus- six.

This is the 2010 season debut for the Canadian Tour and this championship is tri-sanctioned by the Canadian Tour, the Tour de las Americas and the European Challenge Tour.

Jan-Are Larsen carded a three-under 68 and is alone in sixth place at five- under 208.

Defending champion Peter Gustafsson fired a four-under 67 and vaulted up from a tie for 33rd into seventh place on his own at four-under-par 209.

Francisco Ojeda, who held at least a share of the first and second-round leads, was right near the lead until an eight on the par-four 15th. He finished with a four-over 75.

That dropped Ojeda into a tie for eighth place with Robert Dinwiddie (70), Anthony Snobeck (70), Jose Manuel Garrido (71), Julio Zapata (71) and Joaquin Estevez (71). The group finished at three-under 210.

NOTES: Marcus Higley was fourth after two rounds, but a third-round, seven- over 78 dropped him into a tie for 32nd place at plus-one...Bernd Wiesberger matched Gustafsson for low round of the day on Saturday with a four-under 67. He moved up from a tie for 56th to a tie for 14th at minus-two.
