Play suspended at U.S. Junior Amateur

Shoal Creek, AL (Sports Network) - The second round of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship was suspended on Tuesday due to severe weather near Shoal Creek.

Half of the field still needs to complete the second round and will be back in position Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. (et).

Overnight leader Jorge Fernandez Valdes remains in first place. He is one- under on his round through eight holes and is eight-under for the championship.

Seth Reeves is one-over through five holes, but is second at minus-three.

Cameron Peck (73), Justin Shin (70) and Sam Smith (72) are in the clubhouse at two-under 142.

"I just wanted to make the cut and I did that," said Peck, who lost in the second round last year. "I'm glad it's over."

Defending champion Cody Whitsett, Patrick Rodgers and Cody Gribble are two- under on the course.

Richard Werenski (69) and Julian Suri (74) are tied for ninth at one-under-par 143.

Bryden MacPherson is two-under through eight holes and is part of that group at minus-one.
