Filatov called up by Columbus

Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - The American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch announced on Wednesday that the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled Russian center Nikita Filatov.

Filatov has appeared in two games for the Crunch this season, recording two goals. The 18-year-old was drafted by Columbus in the first round, sixth overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch also announced that center Derek MacKenzie will miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing ankle surgery to correct a previous injury. The 27- year-old has skated in two games with the Crunch this season, notching two goals, one assist and two penalty minutes.
