Crosby sidelined with sore ankle

Fri 14th, March 2008

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Penguins superstar forward Sidney Crosby will be out for a week due to a high-ankle sprain.

Should he miss the next week, Crosby will be out for a home game against Philadelphia on Sunday, a road game against the Rangers on Tuesday and another home game versus Tampa Bay on Thursday.

He had just returned to the Pens lineup on March 4 after missing 21 games with a high ankle sprain, the same ankle that is bothering him again. The 20- year-old felt pain in the ankle during the team's morning skate on Wednesday and sat out the 7-3 pounding of Buffalo on Wednesday.

In three games since returning to action, Crosby has two goals and two assists. He has 22 goals and 45 assists for 67 points in 49 games this season.

The Penguins currently sit in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference and one point behind New Jersey for first place in the Atlantic Division and overall in the conference.
