Minnesota Wild (30-27-4) at Calgary Flames (30-23-9), 10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - A pair of Northwest Division foes start up their post- Olympic break schedules tonight at Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome, where the Minnesota Wild aim for a third win this season over the homestanding Flames.

Although Minnesota trails the third-place Flames by five points in the Northwest race and finds itself in 13th place in the Western Conference standings, the Wild have taken both previous meetings with their division rival in 2009-10. Dating back to last season, Minnesota has won the last three matchups in this series.

The Wild haven't had much success in the Saddledome over the years, however. Minnesota's 2-1 overtime victory over the Flames on December 9 snapped a string of seven straight losses in Calgary, where the team has gone a poor 2-15 with one tie in its last 18 visits.

In addition, Minnesota is a lackluster 9-19-2 overall on the road this season and has dropped seven of its last eight outings as the guest.

The Wild were a winner their last time out, rolling to a 6-2 home triumph over Northwest-leading Vancouver on February 14 behind four power-play goals in seven opportunities.

Kyle Brodziak led the charge with a goal and two assists, with Andrew Brunette, Marek Zidlicky and Cal Clutterbuck each scoring once and adding a helper to help back a 27-save effort from Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom.

Backstrom was one of three Minnesota players, along with forwards Mikko Koivu and Antti Miettinen, to earn a bronze medal competing for Finland in the Winter Olympics. The No. 1 goaltender for the Fins was Flames backstop Miikka Kiprusoff, who turned in a sharp performance between the pipes in his team's final game before the long hiatus.

Kiprusoff stopped 26-of-27 shots as Calgary halted a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 verdict over Anaheim at the Saddledome on February 13. Captain Jarome Iginla, a member of Canada's gold medal-winning squad, had two of the Flames' three goals on the evening.

Although both teams haven't taken the ice in over two weeks, each has been active on the contract front lately. After signing Clutterbuck to a three-year extension last week, the Wild reached agreement with Zidlicky on a three-year pact that will keep the veteran defenseman under control through 2012-13.

The 33-year-old Zidlicky has notched five goals and 31 assists in 60 games this season and recorded five helpers in five contests in the Olympics for the Czech Republic, where he was a teammate of Wild forward Martin Havlat.

Calgary locked up center Matt Stajan with a reported four-year extension on Monday. The 26-year-old was acquired by the Flames as part of a seven-player trade with Toronto on January 31 and has 18 goals and 27 assists over a combined 62 games in 2009-10.

Forward Niklas Hagman, who also came over from the Maple Leafs in that deal, joined Kiprusoff, Backstrom, Koivu and Miettinen on the Finnish team that defeated Slovakia by a 5-3 score in Saturday's Bronze Medal Game.
