Los Angeles Kings (38-20-4) at Nashville Predators (34-23-5), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings have been on a roll over the past month and a half. They hope that will be enough to help them end their losing streak to the Nashville Predators.

Los Angeles will try to break a five-game slide to Nashville tonight in a meeting at Bridgestone Arena.

The Kings picked up a 5-1 win at Dallas on Tuesday in their first game after the Olympic break, giving them an 11-1-1 mark over their last 13 games. The victory was also Los Angeles' eighth in its last nine road games and gave the club 80 points in 62 games after they posted just 79 last season.

Jonathan Quick made 31 saves to set a single-season franchise record with his 36th win of the season, breaking the mark previously set by Mario Lessard in 1980-81.

Alexander Frolov was one of five Los Angeles goal scorers and added two assists for his third three-point game of the season. Anze Kopitar also scored his 29th goal of the season, giving him 10 goals and nine assists over his last 13 games.

Brad Richardson, Jarret Stoll and Ryan Smyth also tallied and Drew Doughty added three assists as the Kings, who haven't made the postseason since 2001-02, moved a point past Phoenix for fourth overall in the Western Conference.

"I felt we did a good job after that first period," Doughty said. "I kind of felt [the Stars] shied away for a little bit, and I think that's why we capitalized on them there."

Tonight should mark the Kings debuts of center Jeff Halpern, who was acquired prior to Wednesday's trade deadline from Tampa Bay for forward Teddy Purcell and a third-round draft pick, as well as forward Fredrik Modin after he was picked up from the Blue Jackets.

Halpern has nine goals and eight assists in 55 games this season. Modin, acquired from Columbus for a conditional seventh-round draft pick, has two goals and four assists in 24 games.

The Kings will try to pick up their first win over the Predators tonight since March 13, 2008. Nashville swept the four-game series last season and then notched a 3-1 win at Los Angeles back on November 7.

Nashville has won seven of its last eight versus the Kings, who have just two wins and a tie in their last nine trips to Nashville.

The Predators have won three of their last four games and made a pair of deals before Wednesday's trade deadline. The first came on Monday, when they acquired defenseman Denis Grebeshkov from Edmonton, and he had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.

"He was really good. He was instrumental in the first two goals," said Predators head coach Barry Trotz of his new defenseman.

Shea Weber and Colin Wilson also scored and Jason Arnott was credited with the game-winning goal at the 5:02 mark of the third, when he dumped the puck towards the net only to see it deflect off an Oiler skate and in. It was Arnott's 15th goal of the year and first in six games.

Pekka Rinne allowed three goals on 25 shots for Nashville, which is five points back of Colorado for sixth place in the Western Conference.

Nashville's second deal was completed yesterday, as it received Dustin Boyd from Calgary for a fourth-round draft pick. The center had eight goals and 11 assists in 60 games with the Flames this year.

The Preds also decided to hold onto defenseman Dan Hamhuis after his name continued to pop up in trade rumors over the last few days.
