New York, NY (Sports Network) - Erik Christensen scored the decisive goal in the third round of the shootout, as the New York Rangers edged Ottawa, 5-4, in preseason action from Madison Square Garden.

Each team was denied in the first round of the shootout before scoring in the second. After Christensen's tally, Henrik Lundqvist turned away Peter Regin to ensure victory for the Blueshirts.

Derek Stepan, Derek Boogaard, Brian Boyle and Marc Staal scored for the Rangers, while Brandon Prust added two assists. Lundqvist made 28 stops to earn the win.

Jason Spezza scored twice for the Senators, who also got goals from Chris Campoli and Erik Karlsson. Brian Elliott made 22 saves in defeat.
