Tioga Downs cancels Saturday's Cane Pace program

Nichols, NY (Sports Network) - Tioga Downs in upstate New York has been forced to cancel its Saturday race card including the $342,875 Cane Pace, the first race in pacing's Triple Crown.
"Tioga Downs Casino will be closed today, September 8, due to weather. Tioga Downs Racing is cancelled for the weekend," as posted on the track's website.
Excessive rain, which has been falling in the northeast the last two days, has caused roads around Tioga Downs to flood.
No make-up date for the Cane Pace has been announced. The track is hosting the Triple Crown for the first time.
