Churchill's Downs prepares for another year of the Breeders Cup Mile

While the punters look forward to two days of action at Kentucky field track. 4th of November will be the date for these horses with their skillful Jockeys to claim the desired cup; all of them come from different countries to be in these championship races of turf and dirt. And of course, we want to know which one could be the best option to win some extra bucks.

As already mentioned, there are many horses to choose from, but let's focus on the ones that have the higher possibilities of winning this Breeders Cup. This year, these two horses "So You Think" and "Await the Dawn" are going to try their luck; the second one seems to be heading for the Cup turf. "Midday" was already a veteran champion of the Breeders Cup and will look for a second one.

From the European side, one of the many competitors is "Byword" who arrived to Churchill down this last weekend. The 5 year is debuting for the first time in U.S. soil. Even with his youth, his numbers and records says that he could be a dark horse during this coming race. "Byword" won his last G2 and G3 stakes and also had a place in an early G2 on 2011. With a new and improved form, he may be surprising many players on this cup.

Breeders Cup 2009 second place "Courageous Cat" and just behind the famous champion "Goldikova". On 2010, "Courageous Cat" only raced three times, skipping most of the year and returning on 2011 with a three-race, two-win schedule; Shoemaker Mile included among his victories and finishing second on Woodbine. For this Breeder Cup, "Courageous Cat" comes with more strength and in an excellent shape so it may be a good idea to consider him for the winning line.

"Get Stormy" is one of the favorites for this year, he finished second on "Gio Ponti" on his last start, and his name only appeared once on the boards this year. "Get Stormy" won a turf race at Churchill during the Kentucky Derby weekend and seems to be familiarized with the track, so it wont be so rare to see a great performance from this horsy who holds the hope of bringing the cup to U.S soil again.

The already mentioned, "Gio Ponti" is also in the race, holding a second place from the last year. With only one victory in five starts of what we have of the current year, that only victory came from his last start on Keeneland for the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile. He may be not on his best year; however he will be a hard competitor to beat on this race.

Of course, there are many horses who could be crowned champions of the Breeders Cup, but the big favorite still being "Goldikova". Even with only two wins this year, and three second finishes, doesn't mean she is getting slow. This French horse is aiming for her fourth Breeder's Cup victory. Even with the big quantity and quality of the other competitors, it seems like there is not a horse who could pose serious threat for the Breeders' Cup greatness.

With just a couple of days ahead; you can prepare for the fourteen races in the schedule. On day 1 you can enjoy five races for the females, and on day two will be nine for the males. The final two races are the John Deere Breeders Cup Turf with a prize of $3 million, and the grand finale; the Breeders Cup Classic. Take your chances and good luck!
