First fight of the night on the main card was between Mike Easton who defeated Ivan Menjivar via unanimous decision making Easton's record 3-0, in the second fight Mendez devoured Cody McKensie in 31 seconds to score a first round knockout that began with a punch to the solar plexus that folded Mckensie and followed by 5 right handed blows to the head that prompted Steve Mazzagatti as referee to stop the fight, the next fight was Demian Maia who took on Dong Hyun Kim, outcome Maia winner after a first round Knockout in just 47 seconds. The next match was between Cung Le and Patrick Cote and went the distance and scored Cung Le the winner by unanimous decision at 30-27 across the board in a slugfest that 40 years old like Le proud I must add... next up we have Tito Ortiz in his last fight before retiring against Forrest Griffin that went the distance, Griffin was knocked down twice and taken down once but landed way more punches than Ortiz who voiced his disagreement with the judges scoring and even said MMA was too good to be compared to boxing referring to the resent controversy between judges scoring of the Pacquiao/Bradley fight.

And in the main event of the evening Anderson Silva faced Chael Sonnen who entered the arena blasting country music and rubbing people the wrong way with his passive/aggressive attitude as usual... and after trash talking Silva for months calling himself the true champion because of the first fight were he dominated Silva the entire fight but lost to a late third round submission by Silva, this time around once again Sonnen clearly dominated Silva with take downs and putting him on his back and some ground and pound but the clearly superior Silva who Exploded in the second round allowing Sonnen to fall after an attempted elbow which Silva took advantage with a knee to the face followed by an onslaught of punches declaring the fight a second round TKO in favor of Silva who has 10 consecutive title defenses, and hasn't lost a fight since 2006 and that was by DQ.
