Schaus named AD at Ohio

Athens, OH (Sports Network) - Ohio University has named Jim Schaus the new director of athletics, the school announced Monday.

Schaus spent the previous nine years at athletic director at Wichita State, and replaces Kirby Hocutt, who took the same job at Miami-Florida in February.

Schaus has an expansive resume, and has been a member of the NCAA Division I Committee on Academic Performance, as well as worked in the athletic departments at Oregon, Cincinnati, Texas-El Paso, and Northern Illinois.

He has also held stints as an intern for the New England Patriots and director of marketing for the Washington Redskins, and a publicity assistant for the LPGA.
