Columbus (6-1-0) at Toronto FC (3-2-1), 4 p.m.
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Columbus Crew midfielder Robbie Rogers doesn't worry about how the club looks on the field - as long as they keep winning.
Last year, Rogers felt the Crew looked better than their opponents on numerous occasions without earning any points.
With six wins in their first seven games - Columbus won just nine matches last year - Rogers just wants the results to continue. Even if the Crew win ugly on occasion.
"There were games where we played better than the other team, but didn't come away with any points," Rogers said. "This season, it doesn't really matter what it looks like. We're just trying to get the points."
Rogers has been one of the main catalysts behind the Crew's start. He has five goals to lead the team and scored twice in last weekend's come-from-behind 3-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
Columbus extended its winning streak to five games with the victory. The Crew visit Toronto on Saturday trying to extend the streak to six matches, but face one of the other hottest teams in Major League Soccer.
Toronto is unbeaten in four straight - the first three games during the streak were wins - and is unbeaten at BMO Field. Toronto's three wins is half as many as it had last season in its first year in the league.
"We have higher expectations of ourselves this year," Toronto defender Marvell Wynne said. "Last year we were more focused on trying to come together and figuring out what we could do.
"This year we know what we can do."
What Toronto hasn't done this year is beat Columbus.
Columbus captured the season opener 2-0 in Columbus. Adam Moffat and Alejandro Moreno scored and goalie Will Hesmer saved a penalty kick.
The Crew's only loss was the following week at Red Bull New York, 2-0. But the Crew haven't lost since and have 12 goals during their five-game win streak.
Moreno is second on the team with four goals and Adam Moffat, who is out with a knee injury, has two goals. Guillermo Barros Schelotto has just one goal but has contributed five assists.
The Crew's defense has been just as solid but new signing Gino Padula may miss Saturday's game with a knee sprain.
TFC needs a victory - or at least a tie - or it will drop 11 points behind the Crew. Toronto is 0-2-1 all-time against Columbus.
"We're trying to keep our [unbeaten] streak going," Wynne said.
Midfielders Amado Guevara (two goals, one assist), Laurent Robert (one goal, one assist) and Rohan Ricketts - all added to the team this season - have led Toronto's turnaround.
And the expectations Wynne alluded to were obvious after last week's 1-1 draw against New York.
"It's good that we're disappointed with a tie," Wynne said.
"I will not fault their effort, you can see the team ethic in the side and they're working for each other," Toronto coach John Carver said after the tie.
"That's what I want."
