MLS Preview from The Sports Network

Real Salt Lake (1-0-0) at Houston (0-0-1), 9 p.m.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake travels to take on the Houston Dynamo on Thursday night at Robertson Stadium as both Western Conference clubs gear up for Week 2 of the Major League Soccer season.

RSL, the defending MLS Cup champions, got off to a roaring start with an impressive 3-0 win at San Jose on Saturday with midfielder Javier Morales having a monster game - two goals and an assist - to earn the MLS Player of the Week award.

"Coming off of last year's knee injury I feel good now to play a full 90 minutes," Morales said after Saturday's win in San Jose. "It's a bit tough for me getting used to playing at a fast pace once again and I felt a bit tired at the end of the match. I am happy about tonight's result and with the support of the team and hopefully we can carry this on to our next game."

The win matched the largest margin of victory on the road in RSL history, equaling a 3-0 result at the Los Angeles Galaxy on May 16, 2006. In comparison, a year ago RSL didn't score its first away goal until May 30, it's sixth away fixture.

The Dynamo are coming off a 1-1 draw at Texas rivals FC Dallas, and will be gunning for the victory in their home opener on Thursday night.

Defender Mike Chabala scored his team's lone goal, his first professional goal, in the season-opening contest.

"I am just really excited to contribute," Chabala told MLSsoccer.com this week. "I have a big responsibility this year and I'm just trying to take advantage of every opportunity that I get."

The Dynamo (0-0-1) did suffer a big loss on Saturday, however, when central defender Eddie Robinson pulled a muscle in his left leg. The bruising defender will miss Thursday's fixture with Ryan Cochrane probably getting the start in his place.

"Thursday is definitely out of the question," Robinson said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "So we're going to get a lot of treatment and a lot of ice to try to get it back in shape for the following weekend."

Dynamo forward Cam Weaver is the only other name on the team's injury report. He is listed as questionable with a knee strain.

RSL (1-0-0) will be without forward Pablo Campos, while sturdy defender Jamison Olave is probable with a knee injury.
