Buenos Aires, Argentina (Sports Network) - Godoy Cruz coach Jorge da Silva has resigned, even after leading the club to a berth in the 2012 Copa Libertadores tournament.
Godoy Cruz ended with the second best aggregate from Argentina's two seasons - the Apertura and Clausura - among non-champions to earn the Copa Libertadores berth.
But Godoy finished outside the top half of the standings in the recently ended Apertura season, leading Da Silva to step down.
Da Silva, a 49-year-old Uruguayan, had managed Godoy Cruz since 2010.
