Buenos Aires, Argentina (Sports Network) - France striker David Trezeguet, who won both the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 for his country, will join Argentine side River Plate in January, according to the relegated giants.
The 34-year-old Trezeguet "signed his contract," the club said on its website, and "will be formally (presented) in January." The player has already passed a physical with the club, which has won a record 33 Argentine titles.
Trezeguet started his club career with Platense in Argentina, and later played at Monaco, Juventus and Hercules in Europe, before a stint in the United Arab Emirates with Baniyas.
He is well-known for role with France, 34 goals in 71 games from 1997-2008, as well as his stint with Juve, which lasted from 2000-2010.
