Botafogo signs midfielder Andrezinho

Sao Paulo, Brazil (Sports Network) - Botafogo signed midfielder Andrezinho to three-year contract Tuesday.

Andrezinho, 28, passed a medical Monday and completed the deal Tuesday, as he was signed to help replace departed defender Bruno Cortes, who recently left to join Sao Paulo.

A former Brazil youth international, Andrezinho last played for Internacional, and started his career with Flamengo. He also played for the Pohang Steelers in South Korea earlier in his career.

Botafogo finished ninth in the Brasileiro last season.
