Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Sports Network) - Brazilian Gilson Paulo was named new coach of Equatorial Guinea, just weeks before the start of the African Cup of Nations.
Paulo, 62, replaces Frenchman Henri Michel, who left the post last month. A former youth coach for Vasco da Gama in Brazil, Paulo will lead Equatorial Guinea in the upcoming tournament, which it co-hosts with Gabon.
Equatorial Guinea is ranked 150th by FIFA.
