Wesley completes Palmeiras move

Sao Paulo, Brazil (Sports Network) - Brazilian midfielder Wesley has completed his move from Werder Bremen to Palmeiras, it was announced on Monday.

The 24-year-old had been training in Brazil since the start of the year after featuring in six Bundesliga matches for Bremen prior to the league's winter break.

Wesley scored one goal in 20 league contests last term for the German side, but said he couldn't pass up the opportunity to return to his homeland.

"I am very excited. I have been training at Palmeiras for a while now," Wesley said in a statement on Palmeiras' website.

"Since I was in Europe I have had several offers, but when Palmeiras' interest came up I was delighted and did not have to think twice."
