Sofia, Bulgaria (Sports Network) - Levski Sofia clinched its 25th Bulgarian league title on Saturday as Valeri Domovchiyski scored a hat trick in the club's 5-3 win over second-placed Loko Sofia.
The two teams entered the match separated by just two points, with Loko having a chance to take over the league lead with a win and just one game to play. Domovchiyski scored the first of his three goals just two minutes into the contest, but a Marcho Dafchev free-kick 11 minutes later pulled the sides level. The visitors put the match away, however, over the next 15 minutes with a three-goal barrage that put them up 4-1 at halftime. Domovchiyski got his second goal of the game before Cedric Bardon made it 3-1. Hristo Yovov then added Levski's fourth goal on the half-hour mark. Kaloyan Karadzhinov grabbed a goal for Loko eight minutes after the restart, but Domovchiyski completed his hat trick just two minutes after that to give his side a comfortable three-goal cushion. Dafchev would get his second goal for Loko in the game's late stages, but it was not enough to keep Levski from clinching its second-straight title. The league title allows Levski to now enter the 2007-08 Champions League second qualifying round, and they will try to add to their title tally on Thursday when they meet Litex in the Bulgarian Cup final.
