Breda, Netherlands (Sports Network) - NAC took over third place in the Eredivisie on Sunday as the club came back from a goal down to earn a 3-1 win over Feyenoord.
The Rotterdam side struck in the opening 10 minutes as Michael Mols helped to set up Leroy Fer's first goal for Feyenoord, but NAC answered with goals from Kurt Elshot and Rogier Molhoek before halftime to take the lead into the break.
Matthew Amoah then gave NAC a two-goal lead with 18 minutes to play when he finished off a pass from Ahmed Ammi and Feyenoord had no response the rest of the match.
Amoah had a chance to add to his tally with a late penalty kick but he failed to convert.
Feyenoord beat NAC in the semifinals of the Dutch Cup earlier this month, but Sunday's win moves NAC three points ahead of Feyenoord and Heerenveen, who are both level on 54 points.
Twente moved up to fourth place as Stein Huysegems scored in the 90th minute to give his team a 1-0 win over Utrecht. Douglas Franco was sent off in the 42nd minute for Twente, but they still managed to get the win and are now two points back of NAC for third.
AZ Alkmaar earned a 2-1 win over Vitesse when Julian Jenner scored the winner in the 72nd minute, while Sparta rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw with Willem II.
