Twente tops Feyenoord

Enschede, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Twente needs a win in its final match of the season against NAC to secure its first Eredivisie title after the club recorded a 2-0 win over Feyenoord on Sunday.

Second-half goals from Blaise Nkufo and Miroslav Stoch were enough to keep Steve McClaren's men one point clear of second-placed Ajax with just one match remaining.

Twente squandered a number of chances in the first half before Bryan Ruiz set up Nkufo to break the deadlock.

Stoch then put the result out of reach in the 68th minute, while Ajax kept pace with a 4-0 win over Heracles.

Siem De Jong scored twice in the first half and Marko Pantelic added a second- half double to complete the scoring for the Amsterdam side, which will play NEC on the final day of the season.

PSV Eindhoven has secured a third-place finish and they beat Groningen, 3-1, with a pair of goals from Zakaria Labyad, while AZ Alkmaar climbed into fourth place after beating Willem II, 3-0.

Den Haag secured its safety on Sunday with a 4-0 win over relegation-bound RKC Waalwijk, Heerenveen and NAC finished 0-0, Sparta is stuck in the bottom three after their 3-0 defeat to Utrecht, Ruud Boymans scored twice in a 2-0 win for Venlo over NEC and Roda got two goals apiece from Willem Janssen and Mads Junker en route to a 5-2 victory against Vitesse.
