Koeman pens one-year extension as Feyenoord coach

Rotterdam, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Feyenoord announced Tuesday that coach Ronald Koeman has agreed to a one-year contract extension to keep at the Rotterdam club through the 2013 season.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Competing in the shadow of Ajax and PSV has meant that Feyenoord has struggled to find success over the last few seasons, but the Dutchman has guided the team to a favorable position to this point in the season as they sit fifth in the Eredivisie.

Koeman has previously enjoyed coaching spells at Ajax, PSV, AZ Alkmaar, Valencia, and Benfica.
