London, England (Sports Network) - Zenit St Petersburg insist they have still not agreed a transfer fee with Tottenham for Russia international Andrei Arshavin.
Weekend reports suggested a switch was close to being confirmed, but Zenit continue to hold out for a fee in the region of $40 million for the playmaker.
Zenit spokesman Alexei Blinov told Sovetsky Sport: "This information is untrue. The situation has not changed since Dick Advocaat last commented on it."
"Tottenham offered us $31 million for Andrei, but that does not work for us. We are waiting for a new proposal," said Konstantin Sarsaniya, Zenit's sporting director.
"Initially we announced that negotiations will start at around $39 million. What the final transfer fee will be in the end is hard to say."
