Stoke-on-Trent, England (Sports Network) - Stoke City manager Tony Pulis will receive further financial backing in the next transfer window, according to ambitious club chairman Peter Coates.
The Potters have already invested around $35 million on new players this summer in a bid to build a squad capable of retaining Premier League status.
But after missing out on several potential targets - including Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant and Cardiff City starlet Joe Ledley - before Monday's transfer deadline, Pulis will be handed further funds in the new year.
"We will be looking in January. It will be dependent on what we need, but our next games will enable us to answer that," Coates told The Sentinel.
"We will strengthen if we can find the right players to fit our requirements. But we have spent more than [$35] million and I think we have done well.
"You would always like more but one or two deals were not to be. I have always been confident we will compete and have a go. That's not changed, we have a good squad of players.
"In January we will see what we need and, if we can find the right players, we will strengthen the team further."
